L.O.V.E

The moment we choose to love we begin to move against domination, against oppression. The moment we choose to love we begin to move towards freedom, to act in ways that liberate ourselves and others. That action is the testimony of love as the practice of freedom.

It doesn’t matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn’t matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years — we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on.

Love is more than a noun — it is a verb; it is more than a feeling — it is caring, sharing, helping, sacrificing.

A scenic Saturday outing (pt2 Felled trees)

I’m sure many people have noticed the felling of trees around Table mountain. I know there are supposed reasons why so many have been felled. It’s just pretty sad to see what was once shaded by tall trees is nothing but left over logs and stumps. There is a thread I found on a website where this topic is discussed. Even if they were felled to be replaced by Fynbos, they weren’t indigenous or they drank too much water; it’s still sad to see what was once tall trees shading our mountain, is now barren.

A scenic Saturday outing (pt1)

I’m not original in saying Cape Town is a beautiful city to live in.  To have all these different elements surrounding us is amazing.  To know I’m 20 minutes from the beach, forest, mountains and beautiful gardens is calming and makes me feel balanced.  For inspiration all one needs to do is get in a car and drive and I can assure you, you will find beauty in Cape Town.

The beginning…

I’ve started this blog for a few personal reasons,  the biggest being to encourage myself to photograph more.  I also wanted something I can constantly update with projects and ideas.  This blog serves my creativity and even if not many people get to see my blog at least it allows me to photograph what I want and share it with the world.  I feel its important to release your creativity.  It’s almost as if releasing it solidifies who you are and what you believe.  I believe you can really learn about yourself through being creative and the creative process.

So welcome to my little humble blog which will be filled with my photographs of how I see things and writings of my mind.  Hope you enjoy

🙂
